This $16 million project entailed the complete exterior and interior renovation of an existing 4-story medical office building for the adaptive re-use as the Corporate Offices of Equity Trust.
Originally awarded to Infinity on a CM at-risk basis, the project was slated to be a 70,000 sf interior gut and re-build to corporate office space with an overall 10 month design/preconstruction and construction schedule.
Just 1 month into the preconstruction period, the scope of the project was revised to include a complete exterior wall demolition and reconstruction, new roof and skylight, internal stair, parking lot and site amenities, and numerous interior design modifications.
With the project scope and budget tripling, the completion date was only afforded a 1 month extension. While working through a design and preconstruction process that included several schematic design evaluations in order to control overall project costs, Infinity fast-tracked the demolition and exterior wall design processes for early bidding and release in order to meet the demands of the construction schedule.
As work continued in the field, the design was being monitored to ensure that the owner’s budget and schedule were met. The project was completed on time and within budget in November 2013.
