New Synagogue

Project details

Infinity served as CMAR for this new two-story worship and teaching center in University Heights. Work began with demolishing six existing residential homes, followed by site preparation. The new construction features a full basement, a 280-seat social hall, and events space. The first floor includes two entrances, a coat room, restrooms, the Rabbi’s study, an extensive library, and a two-story, 230-seat main study hall. The second-floor mezzanine includes an 88-seat smaller study hall, outfitted similarly to the first floor. The interiors feature Italian tile floors, extensive walnut and maple wood paneling use, and an intricately detailed ceiling with integrated lighting on the main floor. The site includes 39 surface parking spaces. Stone veneer clads the wood-framed structure, with storefront windows divided in highly designed geometrical patterns. The building has stairwells on the north and south sides and an elevator to the west.

Our collaboration with the Project Team resulted in a guaranteed maximum price within the Owner’s budget. Excavation revealed an unknown condition requiring us to relocate storm and sewer lines. The color of the exterior stone had to be changed to avoid a 16-week lead time delay. We did not work on 19 days to honor the Jewish holidays. Infinity self-performed carpentry. Diverse firms put 25% of the construction work in place.
