Infinity is serving as a General Contractor Manager At-Risk for this 3,472-sf, highly complex new masonry addition for polymer storage and a control room. The renovation portion replaces gas and water lines, process piping, and equipment in the dewatering building. The new addition houses new polymer storage tanks, process piping, pumps and equipment. Site work includes major renovations to the administrative parking, truck loading areas, and pavement revisions. Anciliaries include site piping, interior polymer and water piping, potable water system modification, electrical, instrumentation, controls, plumbing, and HVAC.

We held frequent constructability reviews to ensure the precise order of work, confirm necessary subsurface investigations to ensure suitable soil conditions for the addition, secure necessary regulatory permits and approvals, and understand temporary infrastructure needs. We manually test the operability of existing values or gates that are not in the scope of work, before they areneeded for critical tie-ins. We continuously maintain a wide, clear path of travel to “rig in” or move new equipment into place.
One design change that became necessary after construction of the REF building shell was the location of the hydronic heating units units at the garage doors. They required relocation to avoid damage to electrical components and lighting fixtures. We included requirements in our subcontract agreements requiring trades to provide staff trained in high-risk construction including confined spaces, deep excavations, and working around hazardous chemicals. Diverse firms are putting 27% of the work in place.
